Fallow Season

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...

I've been sitting on these images for a couple of weeks - I shot them right around Halloween, inspired by a new album from my favorite band, a Norwegian progressive metal band called Madder Mortem. I don't think this is quite the venue to talk about my deep and abiding love for them, but if you have any kind of a taste for aggressive, unusual, and deeply emotional music, I highly recommend checking them out.

Anyway, this skirt is a new piece in my wardrobe, and I feel like it's going to be a real workhorse for me. I have a tendency to skip the basics that fill out a wardrobe in favor of stuff that makes me go "oooh, pretty," but recently I realized that I legitimately needed a simple black skirt, one that fit well and would go with some of the trickier tops that I own. After trying it on with approximately half the shirts I own (and a couple of dresses worn as tops), I'd say it's a resounding success. Don't be surprised if it pops up again in the near future.

I hope everyone had an excellent weekend! I'm looking forward to getting back to something like normal this week.

And just in case anyone was curious...
