Taste the Rainbow

I love a bold, vividly colorful outfit, but I feel like it's been a while since I've put one together. This summer has been so hot and humid that I've found myself defaulting to lighter colors and airier outfits, which, while lovely in their own way, sometimes need to be swapped out for something that packs a bit more of a punch.

This top is another find from the H&M sale rack. I have to say, their stuff is crazy overpriced sometimes - this rib knit top was $50 originally! I feel a bit smug having picked it up for $10, since it's the sort of thing that goes with practically anything, and I feel like I'm going to get a lot of wear out of it through the fall and well into next year.

I thought that some big, 60s hair would be a fun pairing with my bright and colorful outfit. This is the biggest beehive that I've ever accomplished - I realized that you can't be shy with the teasing comb or it's just not going to be visible in photos, even if it's cute in person.

Since the outfit is so bright and colorful, I thought I'd keep the accessories neutral, grabbing some wood bangles, a brown belt, and some great, vintage-inspired low heeled shoes. I actually have these shoes in two different colors - this brown pair and a black and white patent pair. It's so hard to get a good shoe shot sometimes, but these work for everything from a 20s to a 60s inspired look. I'll have to make a point to get some better photos the next time I wear them.

So what kind of outfit just screams "fun" to you?
