Celestial Event

A pleasant day is always, well, pleasant; but a pleasant day that was supposed to be filled with rain and clouds is a special kind of pleasure.
I haven't been able to get out on the roof of Brian's shop for a few months, so it was really lovely rediscovering how great this space is. It always feels bright and open and airy, but with just a hint of industrial edginess, which seemed to work well with the look I was going for.
This sweatshirt, or sweater, or whatever you want to call it, looks like something that could have been produced yesterday, but it's actually vintage. Going by the label, I think it's 50s or 60s.
It's kind of reminiscent of Bowie, isn't it? I've never thought of myself as a big Bowie fan, but lately I keep finding out that songs that I've always liked were his. I came across this at my favorite vintage store not long after he died, and something about it appealed to me.
This ring was a part of my Vintage Secret Santa haul. Cute, no? I think it was actually an extra that Jessica of Chronically Vintage threw in. Ever since I got my new camera, I've gotten really into the art of photography. Not to say that I wasn't interested in it before, but it's just so much more fun (although also more work) than it was with my point and shoot. The camera ring seems really fitting now.
I also have to extol the virtues of this skirt. I knew it was a risk buying a white skirt, but I was just so enamored with the idea that I had to get it. As it turns out, this particular fabric seems to repel dirt and stains. I've spilled coffee on it, smudged it with bike tire dirt, and hung out in Brian's dirty, dusty ass wood shop, none of which left a lasting mark. Downright miraculous, that.
