Hello again! It’s been a moment since I’ve posted, but life has been a bit busy lately, and in the best kind of way. Despite the pandemic and the election and stressing about work, I’ve been really happy lately. I’ve been trying some things that I’ve always wanted to try (dancing, different kinds of baking, learning a new language), and I’ve also been doing a lot of reflecting about the kind of person that I want to be, which has been productive, if a little bit uncomfortable sometimes. I’m competitive and a bit of a perfectionist, and I also tend to just do the things that come easily to me because I don’t want to look foolish. I want to figure out how to let go of that last bit, and use that competitive streak to get better at the things I’m interested in instead of just bowing out if something isn’t easy for me.

But hey, this is a fashion blog, not a freaking self-help blog, so let’s talk about clothes! I’ve been playing with my hair color a lot lately (speaking of things that make me happy), and it’s been fun to rifle through my wardrobe to find clothes to match. I picked up this adorable 1950s suit from a friend, and I love everything about it. The rich eggplant color; the cute gingham accents; the full, cropped jacket; the fluid swing of the skirt. The hat was a last minute addition, and while a pop of kelly green might not be the most intuitive choice, it felt like a fun contrast. And I didn’t have a hat to match, so there’s that too.

I hope that everyone is taking care of themselves! Stay safe and stay sane.
