If you’re looking at these photos and thinking that this setting looks suspiciously familiar, it is, in fact, the exact same spot where I took my last set of photos. I had a whole other spot where I was planning to shoot (and, in fact, I tried to shoot there), but it didn’t work out and I found myself back at a cemetery, wearing a ballgown and eating macarons at 9am on a Sunday. I mentioned on Instagram that I feel like an objectively absurd person, and this is what I mean.

Anyway, I’m going to toot my horn a little bit here and just say that I LOVE how these photos came out. I don’t usually wear strapless dresses, and I will tell you right now that there are some fairly complicated undergarments and some safety pins at work here keeping everything in place, but it was so worth it. I felt dreamy and romantic and dramatic (especially once you throw that veil in), and I’m honestly really proud that I managed to capture that, even though I was laughing at myself quite a lot about the process.

While I bought the dress from my vintage dealer, it’s actually modern, but with a very vintage style of construction. Boned bodice, tulle underskirt, all that good stuff. I certainly didn’t need it, and I’ve been telling myself for a long time now that I really need to stop buying fancy party dresses, but I just couldn’t resist.

It looks like I’ll be back in the office within the next week or two, which is… exciting? I mean, I’ve loved working from home, especially once I got past the more isolating elements, and I can’t tell you how much I’ll miss having my pink hair, but my continued employment is necessary to being able to afford unnecessary party dresses, so we’ll just go with exciting.
