How is everyone doing this week? I really hope that you’re doing well, staying safe, and finding ways to keep sane.

I picked up this Geoffrey Beane skirt recently, and I fell in love the nautical inspiration and the crisp pleats. Once or twice a season I try to play dress up in my closet, figuring out which outfits I want to photograph, and one of the silver linings about the current situation is that I have a lot more time to do that! This look is a product of one of those sessions, and something about this look struck me as special, despite the simplicity of the pieces. It’s something that I would feel comfortable wearing just about anywhere while still also feeling liking I’d turn heads if I walked into a room wearing it.

As I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been spending a lot of time walking around my neighborhood, and there’s a great trail underneath the elevated train tracks a few blocks from my apartment. I’ve always loved the view under there, and I figured it now was a pretty good time to use the lack of foot traffic to snap some photos.

In the interest of social responsibility, I do want to mention that I wear a mask walking to and from my location, I pick low traffic areas, and I stay at least 6 feet from other people while I’m taking my photos.

Anyway, work and life are going well! I’ve gotten a chance to work with the communications team in my company, and it’s nice to put that English degree that I’m still paying off to good use. It does get a bit tiresome living alone, but I just remind myself that I don’t have anyone around to annoy me and I can eat all the beans and cruciferous vegetables that I want without offending anyone, so it all shakes out.

Hopefully the weather warms up for real soon - I’ve got some more lovely things that I really want to show you!
